The Play Gospel By Ear Program is designed for students who want to learn piano from the ground up or grow into gospel music with confidence.

Start With The Essentials

A beginner-friendly 8-week program for students ages 6–18 who want to build a strong foundation in gospel piano.

The Foundation path is the perfect starting point for students who are new to piano or need a clearer path forward.

Over 8 weeks, students will begin developing the core skills needed to grow into gospel piano playing by ear. This program focuses on the fundamentals that every student needs before moving into more advanced playing. This path gives students the structure, confidence, and musical foundation they need to continue growing.

Students will learn:

keyboard basics
finger positioning
The number system
Rhythm and timing
Major and minor chords
Basic gospel progressions
Left-hand and right-hand coordination
Early gospel playing skills

Do students need a piano at home?

A keyboard with at least 61 keys is recommended. Matthew can advise on affordable options before the first lesson.

What ages do you teach?

All programs are designed for students ages 8–18, from complete beginners to those with some experience looking to add gospel to their playing.

Are classes online or in-person?

Both. The Play Gospel By Ear Program runs live on Zoom. Single lessons and Private Mentorship are available online or in-person depending on location.
